Hausa _Fulani community in Jalingo, Taraba state capital have sent a
distress call on Federal government to take immediate action to stop
killings of their innocent members in Jalingo.
The call was made by a community leader,Alhaji Musa Garba who said
Hausa_Fulani community in the town are being attacked and killed in
different locations in Jalingo for the past four days
According to him killings destruction of property of Hausa_Fulani
is an agenda to dislodge them out of the state.
It was further gathered that killings and burning of houses is going
in many areas of the town while several people trapped
Meanwhile Worried by escalation of violence in Jalingo,Taraba state
government has imposed 24 hour curfew in Jalingo Taraba state capital.
The Governor in a statement issued by his senior adviser on media and
publicity,Mr Bala Dan Abu said the 24 hour curfew was aimed at
restoring peace and order in the town and the curfew will remain
enforce until further notice.
At the time of filing this report soldiers and other security agents
are patrolling the town while a military helicopter hovering over the
air.
It is very difficult to ascertain the level of destruction and number
of casualty in the attacks.
