Chairman of the Rivers State chapter of Inter Party Advisory Council
(IPAC) and the former governorship candidate of the Accord Party in
Rivers State Sir Precious Baridoo, condemns the incessant killing of
Rivers State citizens by unknown gunmen in the State.

The Rivers State IPAC chairman in an interview with Newsmen
in Port Harcourt, has called on all residents of Rivers State to be
guided for the rate of killing going on in the state. He said that
IPAC feels the rate of killing in the state is sponsored to render the
state ungovernable, so that the just concluded election will be
cancelled or that Rivers state will be declared as state of emergency.

People of Rivers State, religious leaders, traditional rulers and chiefs
should come together let us talk to God to change the mindset of our
youths from killing each other. Continues beheading of people and cult
rivalry is not healthy for the Rivers State.

IPAC got involved in campaign for peace to reign so that there will be
jobs tomorrow. Because if there is no peace, all investors will run
away from Rivers State. And when they run away there will be no job.

The rate of killing going on now is barbaric. It is not expected from
a state like Rivers State. I will not say that the state is sitting on
gun powder but Rivers State should be allowed to rest by political
gladiators, they are suspected to be behind the killing now to render
Rivers State ungovernable and maybe, to call for state of emergency.

Continuing, the state IPAC boss also advised oppositions to allow
governor E.N Wike to complete his tenure and work with him to improve
sustainable development in the state.

The IPAC chairman also called on chiefs and elders to speak out and
against ills in the state and work in synergy with the young men in
the state for looking for better ways to ensure that Rivers state
survives, we know that it is only one Rivers State that we have, if we
loose it today, we have lost forever. When two brothers are fighting,
visitors and strangers always collect their lands, that is exactly
what is happening in Rivers State. See those that are not true Rivers
citizens are making it. While we are here quarrelling and killing
ourselves. We want peace to reign in Rivers State. We want Rivers
State to have a new turn of life from what it use to be before.

Furthermore, the state IPAC boss advised youths that are being used by
some politicians to cause mayhem in the state, to ensure before they
go out to perpetrate any evil, they should make sure that the sons and
daughters of their sponsors are abroad studying and enjoying good
things of life,
He said, any soul that is lost is gone forever.

He also added that those you have beheaded, what will happen to your
own family tomorrow? We want peace  to reign, shield your swords, iron
out your differences and let us continue to live as brothers. If
rivalry continues there will be no development, there will be no jobs.
Let the youths shield their swords and come together as one.

He also called on government to step in and and settle the problems in
Rivers State. He said  governor Wike has become someone that people do
not want to respect because of security reasons, but this is not his
fault, the people that are fighting him are the cause of the whole
problem. I am advising the youths to shield their swords, because if
you die today, you are a waste in your family. Remember all that your
parents passed through to see you through to raise you, don’t be a
waste, don’t cause them pain. Allow them to benefit from you, do
something meaningful, legitimately to make a living and stop killing
yourselves.

Also, the state IPAC boss Sir Precious Baridoo used this medium to
advise all those that lost in the just concluded governorship election
in Rivers State to work with governor E.N Wike or follow due process,
through the tribunal to claim their mandate if they can,  and if they
cannot, they should wait for another four years for another
opportunity.

He said the state governor, Chief E.N Wike had promised to run an
inclusive government and that was why IPAC supports him. He said
judging from  governor Wike developmental stride in his last
administration, IPAC supported him both in campaigning for him, he
urged all those nursing the ambition of becoming governor in the state
to allow Wike complete his tenure, that governor Wike has said that he
will not be the governor of Rivers State forever, that he should be
allowed to complete his tenure.

Also, Sir Precious Baridoo, also said that IPAC condemned the over
militarization of the the just concluded election in the state. He
also advised all those agitating for the cancellation of the just
concluded governorship election in the state to desist from that,
because ambition in this just
concluded governorship election in state will cause more blood shed
than the state witnessed during the elections. He said that Rivers
State have lost more lives in this concluded election than before, he
said  the numbers of lives lost during this election, the number of
death that are not recorded are more than the number of deaths
recorded.

The state IPAC boss also advised Rivers State APC to put their house
in order. I know APC Will learn from their past mistake to put their
house in order when time like this come again.

IPAC believe governor Wike will run an inclusive government, and
carry every shade of view and interest into consideration in forming
his exco and in making things to happen in the state.

Also noted that they Supported the governor for peace and sustainable
development to continue.
