Residents of Enugu and Nsukka would experience a boost in water
supply. This is as Nigeria’s President, Muhammadu Buhari has secured a
loan of 50 million dollars from African Finance Corporation (AFC) for
the upgrade of Enugu, Nsukka Urban Water Scheme.
Mr. Osita Okechukwu, the Director General of Voice of Nigeria (VON)
announced this on Saturday.
The VON-DG spoke in Enugu at the inauguration of Enugu State Caucus of
the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Okechukwu, who is a member of the 37-man caucus headed by Mr. Ben
Nwoye, the State Chairman of APC, equally explained efforts being made
to key Enugu State into the Social Investment Programme of Mr.
President.

Okechukwu, who is a member of the 37-man caucus headed by Mr. Ben
Nwoye, the State Chairman of APC, equally explained efforts being made

President.
The party boss described the ceremony as remarkable because the
ex-governors, senators and former speaker, who were members of the
caucus presently, were not members of the party two years ago.
“These are great men and women, who we know that with their
contribution, not just financial, but by directive and direction, that
this party will move forward.We now want to constitute the conscience
of the party to help us direct the party because we have a date with
the Lion Building, Enugu’s Government House in 2019,” Nwoye said.
Almost three years down the line after the registration of the APC on
the 31 July, 2014, Dr Nwoye inaugurated State Caucus of the party as
enshrined in Article 12.5 of the Constitution of APC.
Among members of the 37 man Enugu State Caucus of the APC are His
Excellencies, Senator Ken Nnamani, Senator Jim Nwobodo, Group Captain
(rtd) J. Orji, Chief Sullivan Chime, Hon Minister of Foreign Affairs,
Geofrey Onyeama, Director General of Voice of Nigeria, Mr Osita
Okechukwu, Special Adviser, Justice Reform, Mrs Juliet Ibekaku, G.B.
Onoh, Sam Onyishi, Okey Ezea and others.
In his speech at the event, Emma Eneukwu, the South East National Vice
chairman of APC, who was represented by the zonal publicity secretary,
Chief Hyacinth Ngwu, hailed the state chairman, Dr. Nwoye, and his
executive committee members for their vibrancy.
Eneukwu who alongside his representative, Ngwu belong to the caucus,
said he was delighted that Enugu state chapter was the first in the
South East to inaugurate the state caucus.
Other speakers including Group Captain Joe Orji (rtd), former military
governor of Gombe State, followed suite in calling for peace and
harmony in managing the affairs of the party.
