It has been avalanche of defections from the All Progressive Congress,
APC, to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, since the former Chief of
Staff, Rivers State Government House, Chief Emeh Glory Emeh bid APC
goodbye and embraced the Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike administration
and PDP in Rivers State.
The latest defectors are from ward 4 in the Emohua local government
area where hundreds of APC supporters decamped to the PDP.
Speaking at a courtesy visit to the Port Harcourt residence of Barr.
Emeh, the leader of the delegation, Pastor Tony Iwedi described their
defection to PDP as inspirational, based on the fact that Chief Emeh
Glory Emeh had in the past years been a source of livelihood to a vast
majority of the people in the local government area.
Pastor Iwedi, who said that their people are proud to be associated
with the purposeful administration of Governor Ezenwo Nyesom Wike,
observed that, with the movement of Barr. Emeh, who is also a
chartered accountant, to the PDP, that APC can only be described as
dead and buried in the area.
In his response, the commissioner during the administration of Dr.
Peter Odili thanked the former APC members for embracing Governor Wike
and the PDP in Rivers State, describing the governor as a friendly
and God fearing politician, who is prepared to receive as many persons
as come over in his all inclusive government.
Chief Emeh informed the new converts that they took a wise decision
because in no time, according to him, APC will be totally extinct in
Rivers state.
Recall that, the amiable politician had earlier received decampees
from Ikwerre, Khana, Tai, Asari-Toru, Degema and Port Harcourt local
government areas, in the course of his state wide consultations and
assignment to receive decampees from the 23 local government areas of
the state.
Chief Emeh Glory Emeh also assured each of the visiting groups that he
would take them to see Governor Wike once his assignment is concluded.
