THE Independent National Electoral Commission [INEC] has declared
Rotimi Akeredolu of the All Progressives Congress [APC] the
Governor elect in the governorship election in Ondo state.
Prof Abdul Ganiyu Ambali, INEC’s Returning Officer declared
Akeredolu as the governor elect after satisfying all the requirements
and having the highest number of votes.
He polled 244, 842 beating his closest rival, Eyitayo Jegede of the
People’s Democratic Party, (PDP), who polled 150, 380, while Olusola
Oke of the Alliance for Democracy, (AD) follows with a distant third
of 126, 889 votes.
Reacting Akeredolu thanked the people of Ondo state for electing him,
‘Ondo has decided, and I am humbled that my people chose me. Our time
to think a new and act a new has come. Thank you Ondo state’.
